A Possible 2012 Scenario |
|
1: The Battle |
|
The epic battle to be fought will not be seen, or at least recognized for what it is, by most people. It is already being built up to, and will be waged, by leaders most people will be unaware of. Neither side will be good, but both will perceive themselves as justified and the other as, therefore, an evil or unworthy force against them, standing in the way and vying for what is rightfully theirs. Both grab for power and wealth, and both will do everything they can to draw as many others into their war as they can, in their desperate bid to finally win everything, once and for all. As a result of deliberate deception, any fight seen by the general population will be misunderstood by most, who will either feel a moral obligation to support the side they believe to be good against the forces of evil, or who will be dragged in unwillingly, no matter what they think of the visibly opposing sides. Of course, some will also be operating on their own personal, greed driven drive. But they will also be deceived as to what is actually occurring and what is truly at stake. |

There will also be a few who refuse to take sides. Their reasons may vary, from being disinterested in getting involved in anything not directly related to them to cowardice to hedging their bets by attempting to play both sides, as well as an actually realistic understanding that frees them from the kind of deception that would cause them to fall prey to the opponents and their war. And so a person's reasons for not taking part do make a difference. |

Those who believe this is not about nations, religions, or corporations are correct. But this is not about banks, either. It is (corruptly) spiritually driven. The aforementioned institutions are merely tools. This is about people who think they have a secret connection to a higher power that gives them the right to rule. It's about those who see themselves as a select few, taking directives from that authority, in turn being granted their own authority to control everyone else. And it is about those people using their positions in powerful worldly institutions in an attempt to exert control over everyone else. |

One side is well known to all and has the advantage of having claimed to be the righteous, championing force for good since its inception. The other is at least one faction, if not more, descended from a group that has, over the same period, claimed an underdog status as the oppressed holders of truth in the face of a degenerate institution that traps the masses in a state of ignorance. |
|
They will do everything possible to crush each other, each side believing their might will settle the matter permanently. Neither will allow for the possibility that their struggle is nothing more than the latest incarnation of an age old, cyclical process in which worldly powers rise and fall. Only after they destroy each other, and many others along the way, will they concede that they cannot win - "yet". Eventually, after all has been said and done, they will go back to square one, thinking they need only bide their time until the opportunity to strike comes again. Little will they consider that the next opportunity may belong to others, some of whom, at least, will have little knowledge of, let alone concern for, who they once were. |

Such is the way of things on an ongoing basis in our world; cycles overlapping cycles, to greater and lesser degrees. This will not cease for the event of the 2012 winter solstice just so that no one can say anything major happened around that time. Nor will other major happenings, such as economic upheavals, political rivalries, epidemics, and natural disasters. Will these things be particularly severe at that time? Possibly. If so, will it be because of the Galactic Alignment? That is actually a matter of faith, whether you believe the connection is there or not. Neither belief nor disbelief can be proven or disproven. |

2: The Balancing Wisdom |
|
Those who think earthly wealth and power will free them from bondage at the expense of the weak fail to see the chains they impose on themselves, as well as the limits of their ability to control others. It is their folly to see only two choices: to be enslaved or to be the enslavers of others. |
|
In order to maintain their position, they must constantly be imprisoned by the shadow and the hard reality of the amount of time and energy they must expend, the amount of information they must gather and manage, the orders they must give and be sure are followed properly, and so on. They must delegate to an increasingly complex network, relying on the reliability of more and more underlings. They must cultivate a keen sense of when to handle things themselves, never letting themselves slip for even a moment. It is a heavy burden. |

As with any other activity, those who love what they do will feel no burden at all. They know the game they are in. If this simply entertains them, so be it. On the other hand, while we cannot help but have our lives influenced by what they do, our inward selves belong to us. We must manage their effect, just as we would the effect of a storm, an illness, the loss of someone dear, and many other experiences that are a given in this world. We would be foolish to discount them. But they are not the be all and end all. Besides, some play their game openly, without cruel intention, simply letting it be what it is, not attempting to ruin the rest of us for their own sake. And when it comes to those who act behind the scenes, insisting on more than just the satisfaction of the game itself, we can resist losing ourselves to their manipulations. |

There are times for taking up a just cause. There are times for refusing to be drawn into an ugly situation being hashed out by two ugly foes. One who is careful and wise learns to discern. Refuse fear. Follow your conscience. Make choices wisely. |
|
3: The Winter Solstice of 2012 |
|
John Major Jenkins is correct in thinking that, in order for December 12, 2012 to involve a single, great event, an individual would have to be doing something specific. He is right to believe that there may be a gradual process, perhaps peaking on or near that date. Terence McKenna was also right that there will be a specific event. (Reference: John Major Jenkins - 2012, Mayan Cosmology, & Shamanism (Part 1) @ 2:34) However, those who think nothing will happen are also correct. |

Those who stockpile goods and develop survivalist tactics, as many did in anticipation of the turn of the millennium, may experience some degree of disappointment (and concern over what to do with so many unused pounds of rice). Will there be civil unrest? There might. There might not. It may or may not be precipitated by a solar flare, a widespread illness, or somebody messing around with the global economy and such. It is even possible the whole world will end. But this is unlikely. Turbulence may be expected. We are already having that. Remember that the Mayan calendar moves in cycles. When the one we are in comes to an end, the next one will begin. (If you store food and other items, even just for times when you are unable to get out in the winter to shop, remember to include water and a proper first-aid kit. Date and rotate your goods and products so that the oldest are used up and replaced from time to time, even if you just keep enough for a local emergency.) |

Those who expect nothing out of this special moment except an interesting astronomical event will most likely be satisfied. They want nothing more; they may get nothing more. They are not to be judged for this. |
|
Those who experience something grandly transformative in a single moment on that day will be doing something specific, whether they consciously intended for that to happen or not. Those who find the 2012 winter solstice to be the peak of a gradual process have probably been doing something special for a long time. The ones who are in the midst of a long process and also are hit with a grand moment have been preparing to do something specific in that moment while, at the same time, not waiting for it in order to begin transforming. |

We all have our conscious opinions of ourselves and our conscious perception of our own needs and desires. We should not let our expectations overshadow a wise assessment of what actually happens to us (or does not happen) when the time comes. We should not look to others to tell us what should have happened. Instead, let us be patient and see what actually shakes out. Only arrogance leads us to think we can know precisely, in advance. |
|
In any case, look within. What we find there is what will shape the future - for ourselves as individuals, right now, and, ultimately, for all of us, as we move into our shared future. If there is a struggle that truly matters, it is there. If there is a victory to be won, a miracle to occur, or an evolution to take place, that is where it is to be found. |
